FAQ

  • How much does it cost to hire the vans?
    The hire price varies throughout the year depending on the time of year and number of nights. Prices and availability can be seen on our calendar booking system. Prices are inclusive of all costs (with the exception of extra driver charge, cleaning cost for dogs plus extra for Dougal’s E-Bike rack).
  • Are the campers heated?
    Yes, our campers are fitted with heaters to keep you warm and toasty on cooler evenings.
  • Do I need to put down a deposit?
    Yes, we will need to take a deposit of £500 to cover any excess you may be liable for in the event that an insurance claim needs to be made (if the vehicle is returned damaged). We currently use Airbnb for our bookings - they will manage this process.
  • Can I bring my dog?
    Yes, we love dogs and we are definitely dog friendly. We know just how muddy and messy our four legged friends get though so we ask that you keep them off the seats and to cover the additional cleaning costs, we charge a one off fee. When you book, please let us know if your faithful paw friend will be joining.
  • When can I pick up and drop off the van?
    Although during quieter times, we can be flexible and try to accommodate your preferred time, our standard timings are as follows, we ask that you pick up your camper on the first day after 3 pm and drop your camper back by 10 or 11 am on the last day to allow us to get the camper clean and ready for action for the next customer.
  • What equipment is included?
    Our campers are integrally fitted with beds( for 4), sink with cold water tap, gas hob, fridge, retractable side awning, table and 2 chairs. We also provide outdoor gas BBQ, Ridge-Monkey multi purpose pan for cooking, foldable sink and drainer and a full set of cutlery, plates, bowls and mugs, basic tea/coffee/sugar pack.
  • What will I need to bring?
    You will need to bring your bedding ( sleeping bags and pillows or duvets and pillows), personal camping equipment, your own Porta-Loo if you require one ( if you are not staying at a campsite with facilities).
  • Can the campers be parked easily?
    Yes, our fully automatic campers have a super efficient turning circle and fit comfortably into normal parking spaces, so you can pop to the supermarket to stock up on essentials for your trip in Florence or Douglas with ease!
  • Will I be shown how to operate the van before I drive away?
    Yes, we will take all the time needed to show you exactly how to operate our vans and the equipment inside. Should you need further reference whilst away, we will send you video links prior to your vacation for you to access, we will also be available to call should you need advise.
  • Can I leave my car at your address whilst away?
    Yes, you can leave your car with us at our address whist you’re away. We have off road driveway parking in a quiet country location at our house. Cars are however left at owner’s risk.
  • If I have points on my license, can I still hire a van?
    Depending on how many - A few points are acceptable. Please contact us to discuss.
  • Can anybody drive the van?
    Yes, providing they meet our driver requirements set by our insurance company, their name is on the rental agreement and we have all the necessary documentation.
  • What documents do I need to provide?
    To ensure that you are fully insured, we require proof of address x 2, full UK driving license and DVLA license check, you will also need to have held a full license for at least 2 years and be aged 25-75.
  • Can I take the camper to Europe?
    As this is our first year, we are UK only until we become a little more established.
  • Do you have bike racks?
    Yes, Florence is fitted with a 4 bike rack and Douglas has a 3 E-Bike detachable rack which can be fitted as an extra.
